tHESE ARE OUR MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS!

 FAQs - bosch Alarm systems

  • We recommend at a minimum that you have a security alarm installed. Our systems rely on the Bosch 6000 Solution, which gives you options to upgrade, add features, but offers a reliable base security network that you can additionally pair with security cameras.

  • This question depends on every person’s unique situation.

At a bare minimum, we recommend sensors to cover crucial points of entry, such as backyard gates, front & garage doors and back access doors.

Beyond that, we recommend booking in a security assessment and talking to our expert Steve to guide you to the right system for you.

  • Our security systems are based around the Bosch 6000 Solution, which is a user-friendly keypad that can be taught to all, including kids and grandparents.

Need extra help? We offer additional alarm coaching to get you and your loved ones or employees secure.

  • The Bosch 6000 features a time-delay to alert the home-owner if the sensors are triggered and the panel is not disarmed by the owner.

This time-delay can be configured to the user’s specifications, to ensure an adequate time-delay so that you can reach the alarm panel without disturbing your neighbours.

  • Information about how this does or doesn’t effect the alarm

  • Yes - unless otherwise configured, a security siren will continue to sound until it has been actively disarmed.

We advise that you set your siren to run for a specific time to suit your environment. We recommend only 1 or 2 minutes in a residential area and perhaps 5 minutes or more in a commercial or rural area.

In cases of a false alarm, or if you simply need to deactivate your alarm remotely, you can do so by accessing the iFob Control Panel through the Bosch MyAlarm app on your smartphone.

  • Yes - Our security alarm systems are installed with a battery backup, and can even accept a sim-card for a truly wireless and around-the-clock alarm system.

This means even when the power goes out, you can still receive updates on how your system is behaving, and if anything has been triggered while you’re away.

  • The beauty of the Bosch 6000 alarm system is that it can support as little as 1 sensor, and as many as 144 different sensors, each able to be configured into different security zones, with options to be switched on and off as you require.

You can even set up automatic zone activation for certain times of the day, or remotely activate or deactivate zones with the Bosch MyAlarm app.

  • Yes - by installing the Bosch MyAlarm iFob Control app, you can control your alarm system remotely.

If you have multiple systems, you can even remotely access each one individually from within the same app.

  • Our Bosch Alarm Systems come with a standard 5 year warranty, giving you peace of mind.

  • Your alarm can be connected via Landline, VoIP, or even use a mobile sim-card to ensure minimal downtime, even when hardwired services would fail you!

  • Simply make your way to your code panel and enter your security code to disable any sounding alarm.

 FAQs - Security camera systems

  • Every installation is different, so no one answer will fit everyone.

However, we typically recommend cameras installed at key points of entry, providing you with security and insurance against any intruders.

We also recommend coverage over valuable belongings that remain outdoors, such as boats and jetskis, vehicles.

If you have a pool, safe remote monitoring is a fantastic option.

  • No - all of our cameras are hard-wired for a reliable, high definition and secure connection 24-7, 365.

By hardwiring our cameras, we eliminate any downtime from charging, and also give you peace of mind that your WiFi connection won’t suddenly drop out, leaving your cameras useless and your property unsecured.

  • Yes - unlike lesser systems that rely on WiFi just to work, we use hard-wired connections that run directly to your modem, connecting your high-definition cameras directly to the source.

They will record 24/7 directly to a dedicated NVR, giving you a robust backup of every moment, with the ability to access them remotely. Say goodbye to cameras that drop out every 5 minutes - our security systems are built for year-round operation.

  • No flood lights necessary! Our cameras use a combination of modern infra-red technology, paired with intelligently placed infra-red flood lights that are imperceptible to the human eye.

This offers you an incredible night-to-day image conversion that enables you to see everything that’s going on in your backyard or store when the lights go down!

  • We pair our security camera systems with a dedicated NVR recording every moment, configurable to your specific needs.

While our systems come standard with a vendor-certified 4TB CCTV Hard Drive, we do have options available up to 8TB.

The exact recording time will entirely depend on how many cameras and how many different channels you decide to install, monitor and record, but generally, our systems will give a minimum of 1 month of constant recording time.

  • No subscriptions required, ever!

Our professional security camera installations include the lifetime licence required to view your cameras remotely, and access the smart features that pair with the related app.

This licence is included with every installation as a standard inclusion, saving you thousands in the long-run when compared to cameras that rely on a subscription-model.

  • Yes! Our installations can be configured to send you notifications, as well as perform other tasks.

Talk to Steve during your assessment to learn more about how these features function.

  • All of our security camera installations come with a 3 Year Warranty.

  • Yes - we only install certified waterproof cameras in positions where they can be subject to weather.

While our indoor cameras do not always have a waterproof option, if you have a particularly unique situation where you require a waterproof camera installed, please speak with Steve during your security assessment and we can find you the appropriate solution!

  • 4K has become the standard in modern, high-quality security cameras. We wouldn’t settle for less, so we wouldn’t expect you to either.

All of our security cameras support either a 6MP sensor, or with our higher tiers, an 8MP sensor.

This means regardless of what option you choose, you’re getting high-resolution imagery, meaning you can see the finger details in every corner of your image.

FAQs - dahua and Elvox intercoms

  • While not necessary, it is a highly recommended way to increase security in your home.

Before you even unlock your front door, you can confirm who your visitors are, make sure your delivery is safe and ignore unwanted visitors and solicitors.

  • If you’re looking to upgrade an existing IP based intercom, we can use your existing Cat5 ethernet cable and simply install our hardware.

However, if you’re in the market for a brand new IP intercom, you will need a CAT5 cable to be run from inside the home to the location of your video intercom at the entryway.

The same will apply for an analogue security camera, though costs for an entirely new install are generally lower.

  • A big feature of all of our chosen intercom units is easy of use.

With simple and clear panels for guests to connect to the house-phone, and options for simple and multi-function in-home panels, you can make your system as simple as you need.

  • Yes and no - this largely depends on the specific model of intercom and method of installation you chose.

Our IP intercoms are generally all accessible remotely as part of their functionality, however it is also possible to do this with our analogue options - though this will have more steps, and be less feature-rich than the IP Intercom alternatives.

  • No, the intercom will generally function with it’s own alarm.

However with the right sensor placement, we can achieve that same functionality without direct compatibility between the two systems.
